Offensive linemen Silas Fournier and Isaak Groeneveld set the tone on the first play of the Two Harbors homecoming game against Hibbing when their blocks sealed the left side of the Hibbing defensive line, thereby turning Cameron Poe-Johnson loose on an 83-yard touchdown run en route to an Agates 40-8 victory over the Bluejackets at Halsted Field.
This may be the first time two offensive linemen were cited as the headliners of any football game ever played in America.

Both teams entered the game with 3-1 records. Poe-Johnson added a pair of second-quarter touchdowns on runs of 17 and 2 yards as the Agates stunned Hibbing while building a 26-0 halftime lead. Sophomore quarterback Isaac Imholte and Junior Lucero contributed to that margin with a 35-yard touchdown connection.
Coach Tom Nelson shared his thoughts after the game: “Great night of football for our Homecoming game! Kids took some big steps as a team. It has been a journey as we work towards meeting our goals as a program for this year—we are heading in the right direction!”
One of the great things about returning home is seeing family–with some parents slipping back into their old role of picking up after their kids. It happened again following this Homecoming game. On Saturday morning, one person was seen walking row by row through the bleachers at Halsted Field, picking up trash left behind by the fans.
That person was the leader of this Agates FAMILY – Head Coach Tom Nelson.
The Agates (4-1) travel to Proctor to face the (0-5) Rails on Friday, October 9.
